I figure there's perhaps a thousand readers of my little book who now have sites of their own. Some of them have done some pretty freaky stuff and I thought that I'd start by posting a few links to some of my faves that contain more than just a QuickTime of their latest movie.

Mark Estabrook's site is a great example of a digital moviemaker who uses the emerging distribution mechanisms to inform, discuss and promote. A worthwhile stop on your digital journeys.

I met Doug Cox at the Film Makers Alliance where I was giving a talk. We chatted, he went out and bought my book and now he's got himself a very cool movie. Congratulations!

Randy Nargi is one of those people who used Digital Moviemaking as a guide to making their own project. He took a regonal topic, created a very cool little movie, showed it at festivals and is now officially a moviemaker. Congratulations!

Director-Writer-Producer Daniel Pace is one of those multi-hyphanate creative types that is flourishing in the pixelated world of digital moviemaking. A quick cruse over to the promo site of his last film 14 WAYS TO WEAR LIPSTICK will give you a clue to the style and capabilities of this digital auteur.

Equally at home behind the camera or in front of a computer, Daniel promoted 14 WAYS via his articulate and well constructed website and film festival submissions. Following his movie's performance at the 1999 Slamdance Film Festival, 14 WAYS garnered a sweet video distribution deal and that as they say is that.

As strange a movie as 14 WAYS was, Daniel's newest DV project promises to be even further out there. In his own words, "My next project? It's actually a documentary and a feature. To get a feel of it check out my website at LightsOverPhoenix.com. The doc is in the works and it actually introduces the feature (kind of an "unsolved mystery" where the mystery is revealed in the feature). The feature is quite an ambitious project since it involves quite a bit of effects and it's going to be a challenge."

And now for something completely different in a charmingly neo-retro-futuristic way - ARE BELONG TO US!

The preceding assortment of QuickTime movies have been compressed in MediaCleaner Pro using the Sorenson Codec set for 'good' quality ISDN streaming.
